The invention relates to an air-deflecting means (4) which is arranged in the region of the rear edge of the back of an estate car (1), serves to avoid soiling of the rear window (2) and in the case of which two transverse walls (5, 7), in the operating position of the air-deflecting means, form an air duct (8) between them. Given said air-deflecting means, the outer transverse wall (5) is fixed as a constituent part of the contour of the bodywork and, in contrast, the rear edge region (7), of the roof, forming the rear transverse wall can pivot between a rest position, which is in alignment with the first-mentioned transverse wall (5), and a lowered operating position (Fig. 3).
