The upholstered rear seat (10) rests on a support structure (12) determining the seat height, which is fastened to the car floor (13) by releasable anchoring points (14-16). The seat support structure is releasably coupled to the seat at its end away from the anchoring points. In the anchoring points it is swivelable from its use position, presetting the seat height, into a stowing position on or in the floor, and vice versa. There is at least one manual locking mechanism (17, 19) for the seat support structure securing in the anchoring points in the use position.
