An illuminated point of sale sign is disclosed which includes a frame, a lighting system and a battery electrically connected to the lighting system, the lighting system and the battery being disposed within the frame, and a light sensor disposed outside the frame and electrically connected to the lighting system and the battery. The frame includes projections which define inner grooves adapted to receive and accommodate existing real estate signs made of thin corrugated plastic or lexan.
